About Alana

Alana_Krahe_Nutritionist

Hi there, I am Alana Krahe and Feed Your Happiness is my ongoing project of leaning how to live a better life through conscious diet and lifestyle choices. I am a qualified nutritionist, mum and would describe myself as a seeker of happiness and how to live a truly good life.

My purpose is to inspire better health and happiness for families by how we choose to eat, think, move, rest and connect. For these daily habits impact our mental health, gut health and how our children grow and develop.

Most parents would tell you they want their kids to be happy in life. But I want to teach my kids how to be happy and this comes from building deliberate diet and lifestyle habits. I believe it comes from eating whole foods, thinking mindfully, moving often, resting well and connecting with your inner self, community and outside environment.

When not making a mess in the kitchen you will find me enjoying the simple life - spending quality time with my family, trying to stay active and get outside with my two ratbag children - always with a playlist on high rotation and dark chocolate within reach.

I hope you can use this site to inspire positive change in your life and feed your happiness.

The Philosophy

The philosophy for Feed Your Happiness is centred around my core beliefs:

In living with health, happiness and meaning.

Health is allowing your body and mind to function optimally.

Happiness is striving for an ongoing sense of contentment rather than the transient state of being happy.

Living with meaning is discovering, creating and evolving your authentic inner self.

Eating, moving, thinking, resting and connecting are essential for allowing us to thrive.

Knowledge is powerful and allows us to grow.

In credible and evidence-based research.

In simplifying scientific and biochemical knowledge into actionable steps.

In promoting preventative health and how to best manage and overcome the underlying causes of health conditions and illnesses.

We are all human (and love chocolate or some other vice), so I will not encourage perfection, but small improvements over the lifetime.

In supporting honest research and lifelong learning as science continues to uncover just some of the answers to our complex functioning.

In personalised health and that living a happy and meaningful life is unique for us all.

In empowering and inspiring so we can all live a good life.
